A
certain woman, diseased with an issue of blood for twelve years, suffered
many things of many physicians, spent all her living, all she had on
them, neither could be healed by any, and was nothing bettered, but
rather grew worse, when she heard of Jesus, came in the press behind
and touched the hem, the border of his garment.
For
she said, "If I may touch but his clothes, his garment, I
shall be whole." And immediately her fountain, her issue of
blood stanched, dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed
of that plague.
Jesus
knowing immediately in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned
about and said "Who touched me, Who touched my clothes?"
When
all denied it, Peter and all that were with him said "Master, the
multitude throng thee, and press thee, and sayest thou, 'Who touched
me?'
Jesus
said "Somebody hath touched me, for I perceive that virtue is gone
out of me."
Jesus
looked around to see her that had done this thing, and when the woman
and saw she was not hid, knowing what was done in her, came fearing
and trembling, and fell down before him, and told the truth.
He
saith unto her, "Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, be whole of thy plague." And
the woman was made whole from that hour.
