Want to be Saved...Born Again?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17

To “Get to Heaven” You Have to do More “Good Stuff” Than “Bad Stuff”…Right?

If I’m a “Good Person” I’ll “Go to Heaven”...

I'm a “Good Person”…Aren’t I?

Who Can Know…What in the World Does God Require…Anyway?

When a man or woman realizes their true state before a holy God...when a person knows that they don’t match up to what God expects…when people see sin in their lives…when some find a hole in their spirit that nothing can fill, they find themselves in a truly uncomfortable predicament. People want fellowship with the creator of the universe, but that seems impossible.

Man, without God, makes his own plans and follows his own rules. Nevertheless, because man was created for fellowship with God, there remains a frustration and longing within man that can only be fulfilled by God Himself. As man is now hopelessly lacking and God is perfectly holy, there exists the need for God and man to be reconciled so that there can be fellowship with God Almighty.

Some people are curious, some folks mock the notion of a relationship with God, others are downright scared of what will happen at the time of their death and they come face to face with their maker. Others have heard that the LORD is coming back again. And yet there are those who have heard, or recognize, that the “Last Days” or “End Times” might be finally upon us. How to be saved, sometimes referred to as being “born again”, is the most important pursuit any person can undertake. There is, however, some confusion on just exactly what is required.

How to be saved has been described for every man in the preaching of the Gospel, seen in the New Testament. The Gospel is nothing more than the good news about Jesus Christ.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:17-19

God, fully knowing that man would fall, provided a means of reconciliation. God knew that there was nothing that a man could do, himself, to become acceptable.

God sent Jesus Christ, who provided restoration for man with God by giving His own life, shedding His own blood. There was no other way to eradicate the effect of sin except by blood.

…without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebrews 9:22

The shedding of Jesus’ blood indicated that the penalty for sin had been paid. A sinless life had been sacrificed for the lives of all who have sinned. Jesus Christ’s willing submission to the massacre on the cross paid the price for our sins and affected the means of reconciliation.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 5:19

How to be saved is within the reach of every human being on the face of the earth. Once a man or woman recognizes the need for salvation and realizes that God has provided for their salvation through Jesus Christ, he or she must go on to embrace it.

Many today say there are multiple ways to God; however, the Bible says there is only one way. That way is through Jesus Christ.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6

Salvation is simply a process of confessing and believing. A man must confess that Jesus is Lord, which signifies his realization that Jesus Christ must have full rule over his life with all of His righteous requirements. This confession of Jesus as Lord also assumes that it is Christ who will work and fulfill His own righteousness within man.

Next, he must believe that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead. This belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus carries with it the realization that the penalty has been paid for sin and power is provided for man to live a life free from sin. Thus man’s relationship to God is restored.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:91-11

You may feel unworthy to go to heaven…you may not believe that peace with God is easily within your reach, no matter what you may have done in your past.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13

Do you see that you are a sinner? Are you tired of trying to work your way to heaven? Are you tired of constantly trying to please God without really knowing exactly what to do? Are you tired of being afraid? Do you believe that Jesus Christ came as the one and only Redeemer of sin? Are you ready to receive God’s gift of His Son, Jesus Christ? If so, believe in Christ, repent of your sins, and commit the rest of your life to Him as Lord. Go ahead! You can do it! God loves YOU and wants YOU! He wants a personal relationship with YOU. If YOU were the only person on earth Jesus would have died …for YOU! You can pray this prayer, as you wish:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

If you decided receive Jesus today, welcome to God's family. Believe it or not…The angels in heaven are rejoicing over your decision.

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth
Luke 15:10

Now, as a way to begin your life with GOD , the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment by doing the following:

Read your Bible every day. God has a lot to say to you…personally. Read the book He gave you. It tells you everything you ever wanted to know! Devotional Net Nuggets provides a reading schedule and resources to methodically read the entire Bible…day by day.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:105

Talk to God in prayer every day.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Be baptized, worship, fellowship and serve with other believers in a church where Jesus is preached and the Bible is the final authority.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:19-20

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:22-25

Tell others about Jesus and what He means to you!

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15
