Considering that he is fast becoming the most popular preacher in the country, Joel Osteen doesn’t act or sound like a preacher at all.
He has no seminary training and can hardly talk about any religion other than his own brand of creamy, fat-free Christianity (all the hope, none of the sin).
He prefers telling endearing domestic stories about himself and his 21st-century friends and relatives to rehashing the dusty tales of Scripture.
When he preaches at the new Yankee Stadium on Saturday, becoming the first nonbaseball attraction there, he will be his humble, likable, wavy-haired self and nothing more.
“I feel like I don’t need to preach. I just want to talk to the people,” he said. “My gift is to help encourage people. I’m more than happy to leave other things, other areas, to other pastors, who have different gifts.”
Having preached for less than a decade, Osteen, 46, presides over a Houston church in a former basketball arena that draws 40,000 people on Sundays. His televised sermons are seen by more than 7 million Americans a week and millions more around the world…more…
Where is America in Bible Prophecy

America is the greatest nation in the history of nations. America is the only superpower in the world. Our military, our economy, our form of government, our wealth and prosperity, with all its faults, far exceeds all the other nations in our world today and is the envy of every nation. If you don’t appreciate your blessings here I suggest you go live somewhere else for awhile and then come back. While oppressive nations build walls to keep their citizens in America build walls to keep people out. Most of the people of the world would come to America if they could.
Yet when we read the prophecies in the Bible about the end times, we don’t find any mention of America. There is not even the vaguest reference to America in the Bible. As American people who love our country and enjoy “the good life” of living here, thinking that it will go on forever, we should ponder why America is not mentioned in all the great end-time events. What could this mean? The question that should concern all of is “Where is America in Bible Prophecy.” It is a sobering question.

A Nuclear Taliban?

The Pakistani Taliban, even while continuing their penetration of central Pakistan, have begun mobilizing fresh recruits from all over the country to go help their Afghan Taliban brothers resist the newly arriving Western troops. The Taliban now control the tribal regions of Pakistan, huge sections of the Swat Valley and have just consolidated their control over the district of Buner, just 60 miles from Islamabad. They’ve set up checkpoints while the government negotiates a Swat Valley-like truce aimed at holding back the insurgency by ceding territory to them.
Pakistan was one of only two nations on earth that recognized the Taliban as Afghanistan’s legitimate government (the other being Osama’s home country of Saudi Arabia). Many ranking members of the Pak security service, the ISI, are members of the Taliban, as they were in 2002 when Pakistan initially faced off against Washington over Osama bin Laden. Swine Flu Hogwash

An international businessman who performs major work for the Department of Health and Human Services told AFP that fear mongering by Washington and the World Health Organization about swine flu is an attempt to scare people into allowing global control of the healthcare system.
From 300,000 to 500,000 cases of flu are reported in the United States each year and 30,000 to 40,000 die, he pointed out. At the moment of this interview, 100 cases of the flu variant called “swine” had been reported. Yet, all of the major newspapers and news broadcasts breathlessly report on the “swine flu pandemic” to the virtual exclusion of other developments throughout the world.
Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Janet Napolitano, Department of Homeland Security flack, take the absurd position that the United States is under a dire threat of a swine flu epidemic but Mexicans, legal and illegal, should continue to be welcomed as they cross the border into this country. The swine flu outbreak originated in Mexico City, with 2,000 cases so far.
How did it start in Mexico, where did it emanate from? We’ve been able to find that out in all previous pandemics. Bibi Considering Land-For-Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly contemplating making a deal with the Obama administration in an effort to encourage a more forceful American response to the Iranian regime.
According to The Jerusalem Post Thursday, Netanyahu may agree to some form of implementation of the so-called Arab peace plan in exchange for an American pledge to more robustly oppose Tehran’s nuclear program.
This Arab plan calls for Israel to withdraw from all land it has controlled since the Six Day War – including Judea, Samaria, the Dead Sea/Jordan Valley and the Golan Heights – and the granting of blanket rights for all “Palestinian” “refugees” to “return home.”
It is already in play: President Barack Obama and his state department have repeatedly if diplomatically rejected any Israeli questioning of the viability of the “two-state-solution.”
Pundits expect that Netanyahu will be accorded a frosty reception at the White House and that Obama’s gloves will come off. Administration officials answering journalists’ questions in this way, “assured” them that the president was looking forward to hosting the Israeli.
In part because of the widespread media speculation, Netanyahu’s policy review team is understood to be brainstorming ways to avoid any form of clash that could harden Obama’s heart towards Israel.
But concerned critics warn that any indication by Netanyahu of a willingness to soften his stand on land-for-peace could backfire; Obama could wield it as proof that Israel is not really ready to reject this policy as bankrupt, and insist that Israel continue to embrace it whether or not the US change the way it deals with Iran.
