Iran, Turkey Aim For $20 Billion Trade by 2011

Deals between two countries include power plants, industrial zone, bank branches.
Iran and Turkey said they agreed on Wednesday to strengthen energy, banking and transport ties in a drive to almost treble trade between the two neighbours to $20 billion in the next few years.
“The two countries are seriously determined to expand their bilateral relations in all fields,” Iran’s first vice president, Mohammad Reza Rahimi, told a joint news conference with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan spoke of plans to increase trade to $20 billion in 2011 and said he welcomed an Iranian call for trade volume to reach $30 billion eventually. Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said last week bilateral trade was $7 billion in 2008.
Erdogan has steadily expanded Turkey’s influence in the Middle East since his Islamist-rooted AK Party took power in 2002. His visit to Iran has added to concern that Ankara may be slowly turning its back on its Western allies and trying to regain its status as a regional power in the Middle East.

Former ambassador to the UN Dore Gold should probably buy himself a flak jacket. Gold is scheduled to debate Richard Goldstone at Brandeis University next Thursday and the anti-Israel forces are organizing quite a reception for him.
Goldstone, who chaired the UN Human Rights Council’s commission charged with accusing Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead, has become a darling of the anti-Israel Left in the weeks since his report accusing Israel of committing both war crimes and crimes against humanity was published last month. And anti-Israeli leftists don’t like the idea of someone challenging his libelous attacks against Israel in a public debate at a university.
In an email to a campus list-serve, Brandeis student and anti-Israel activist Jonathan Sussman called on his fellow anti-Zionists to disrupt the event that will pit the “neutral” Goldstone against Gold with his “wildly pro-Zionist message.” Sussman invited his list-serve members to join him at a meeting to “discuss a possible response.”
As the young community organizer sees it, “Possibilities include inviting Palestinian speakers to come participate, seeding the audience with people who can disrupt the Zionist narrative, protest and direct action.” He closed his missive with a plaintive call to arms: “Fk the occupation.”

Halloween—October 31—is considered a holiday in the United States. In fact, it rivals Christmas with regard to how widely celebrated it is. Stores that sell only Halloween-related paraphernalia open up a few months before the day and close shortly after it ends. But is Halloween a holiday that Christians should be observing?
The word “holiday” means “holy day.” But there is nothing holy about Halloween. The root word of Halloween is “hallow,” which means “holy, consecrated and set apart for service.” If this holiday is hallowed, whose service is it set apart for? The answer to that question is very easy—Lucifer’s!
Lucifer is a part of the demonic godhead. Remember, everything God has, the devil has a counterfeit. Halloween is a counterfeit holy day that is dedicated to celebrating the demonic trinity of : the Luciferian Spirit (the false father); the Antichrist Spirit (the false holy spirit); and the Spirit of Belial (the false son).
The key word in discussing Halloween is “dedicated.” It is dedicated to darkness and is an accursed season. During Halloween, time-released curses are always loosed. A time-released curse is a period that has been set aside to release demonic activity and to ensnare souls in great measure.

Iran, Turkey Sign Deal to Develop World’s Largest Gas Field

Officials said Ankara and Teheran signed a memorandum of understanding that would pave the way for Turkish companies to develop Iran’s natural gas reserves.
They said the MoU, signed on Oct. 28, would focus on exploration of Iran’s South Pars gas field, deemed the largest in the world.
In March, Iran blamed U.S. sanctions for dropping France’s largest energy company from a major natural gas project.
The Iranian Oil Ministry rejected the participation of France’s Total in the South Pars gas project.
At the time, the ministry’s National Iranian Oil Co. said it had instead selected an unnamed partner to develop Iran’s largest gas reserves…more…
UN Probe of Israel ‘Used False Witnesses’

A U.N. investigator who accused Israel of war crimes was misled by false witnesses and Palestinian misinformation, charged the chief medical officer of an Israeli army brigade that was previously falsely accused of committing a massacre.
“You have let yourself be misled by fabrications made by either terrorists or even doctors. … Did you by any chance try to validate any of these invented and inciting details? Well you didn’t!” wrote David Zangen, an Israeli reservist officer and physician.
Zangen, in an open letter published in Israel’s Maariv newspaper, was addressing South African Judge Richard Goldstone, who penned a U.N. report that claimed both Hamas and Israel were guilty of war crimes during the Jewish state’s defensive war in Gaza last December and January.
Goldstone’s report claimed Israel deliberately targeted civilians during the Gaza conflict, which started after Hamas refused to extend a cease-fire. The terrorist group instead launched a rocket offensive against Israeli population centers…more…
