Israel Set to Begin Ground War Against Hamas in Gaza…Tonight!
Timesonline
Israel is poised to launch a major ground offensive into Gaza tonight after allowing hundreds of foreigners living in the devastated territory to evacuate. After a week of air strikes that have killed at least 420 Palestinians and left scores of buildings in rubble, the Israeli army was set to fling hundreds of troops and tanks into a blitz to stamp out Hamas’s military wing, The Times understands.
Despite the looming onslaught, more Hamas rockets – which have so far killed four Israelis – were fired into southern Israel today. The Islamist group vowed that its attacks, which have lasted for years and which finally provoked the massive Israeli campaign, would not stop.

Licensing proposal could require lawyers to endorse homosexuality
One of the top lawyers in the nation in the battle to protect traditional marriage, historically Christian lifestyle choices, parental rights and the key freedoms provided by the U.S. Constitution is warning that there eventually could be no lawyers left to take up those disputes.
That’s because of a recommendation before the State Bar of Arizona – the organization that licenses attorneys – to require all new lawyers to swear they won’t let their personal religious perspective on homosexuality affect their representation of any client. Mathew Staver, chief of Liberty Counsel, warns that the proposal is just the “tip of the iceberg.”
Global Terror Attacks Feared Due to Gaza OP

As the Israel Defense Forces’ military operation in Gaza progresses, the defense establishment focuses on what is taking place in the Strip and in southern Israeli communities. But is the rise in tensions between Muslims and Jews worldwide being addressed? The Gaza operation may increase tremendously the danger for Israeli citizens and Jews living in different countries, even before mentioning the “promised revenge” by Hizbullah for the assassination of its commander Imad Mugniyah.
Gaza Rockets Put Israel’s Nuclear Plant in Battle Zone
Timesonline
There were growing fears in Israel last night that Hamas missiles could threaten its top-secret nuclear facility at Dimona. Rocket attacks from Gaza have forced Israelis to flee in ever greater numbers and military chiefs have been shaken by the size and sophistication of the militant group’s arsenal.
In Beersheba, until a few days ago a sleepy desert town in southern Israel, there is little sign of the 186,000 inhabitants. Schools are closed and the streets of shuttered shops echo with the howl of sirens warning of incoming rockets.
Happy New Year
NuggetNetReview
In the United States there are many different celebrations and customs that take place every year. Some of these traditions have ties to colonial life in North America before the United States Came into existence. One ancient New Year’s custom was to make as much noise as possible to scare evil spirits away from the coming new year. By the 1700’s colonists in America were continuing this tradition with cheers, shouting and using noisemakers on New Year’s Eve. These kinds of traditions, along with lighting firecrackers, continue to the present day. American celebrations for the New Year begin on the night of December 31. Many people attend parties where at midnight they make noise, cheer, clap, kiss one another and sing an old Scottish song, “Auld Lang Syne”.
The month of January is named for the Roman god, Janus. He is pictured with two faces one looking forward and one looking backward. This symbolizes the connection with both the ending of the old year and the beginning the new one. In America we use different symbols to represent the same things. An old man with a beard usually symbolizes the old year and a baby in diapers the new one.
