The Jewish State of Israel Celebrates its 61st Birthday

Millions of Israelis crowded the streets of the Jewish state to celebrate their 61st birthday on this independence day for a reborn nation of ancient people that have been gathered from over 100 nations of the world which many world leaders refer to as a modern day miracle.
Even with the threat of a radical Moslem leader, the president of Iran, President Ahmadinejad calling for the Jewish state to be wiped off the earth, the Jewish people, more than 5.5 million of them, have a hope for peace and security in a region of the world prone to conflict.
Israeli PM Benyamin Netanyahu addressing the nation told Israelis that this Independence Day marks the fulfillment of the dreams of millions of Jews, they once again have a Jewish state.
As the Jewish people in Israel celebrate their 61st birthday, they are also making known to the world that Bible prophecy has been and will be fulfilled.
The ancient Jewish prophets wrote 2,500 years before the fact that God would give His chosen people, the Jewish people, a nation once again and in the land of their forefathers. Ezekiel wrote that God would gather these Jews to Israel, Ezekiel 34. The prophet also said in Ezekiel 36 that the nation would be in the land that He had given their forefathers. The Lord had promised the Jewish patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that the Jewish nation would be forever, Genesis 15, 26 and 35.
The 61st Independence Day of Israel is indeed tangible evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
Report: Intelligence Warns Israel is Now an ‘Obstacle to Obama’

According to a classified intelligence assessment handed to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, U.S. President Barack Obama and his senior advisors wish to “incrementally diminish U.S. strategic cooperation with Israel.”
A report in World Tribune quoted an Israeli source familiar with the intelligence assessment who said that “Obama wants to make friends with our worst enemies and [those who were] until now the worst enemies of the United States. Under this policy,” the source added, “we are more than irrelevant. We have become an obstacle.”
The Israeli intelligence document reportedly predicted that Obama would maintain his policy of appeasing Iran and Syria through 2010. It determined that Obama is convinced that appeasing Iran and Syria would make a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan possible.
Pressure on Israel
“Obama will want to show Iran, Syria and radical Muslims that the United States could pressure Israel on a strategic level,” the source said. “The pressure has already begun and will intensify throughout the next year or two.”
WHO Warns Swine Flu Pandemic Could Be ‘Imminent’

The World Health Organization has raised the swine flu pandemic alert level to phase 5 – just one step below the highest level. The decision comes as the number of countries with confirmed cases rises to at least 10.
World Health Organization Director-General Margaret Chan said the alert level was stepped up because influenza viruses are unpredictable and can spread quickly around the world.
“This change to a higher phase of alert is a signal to governments, to ministries of health and other ministries, to the pharmaceutical industry and the business community that certain actions should now be undertaken with increased urgency, and at an accelerated pace,” said Margaret Chan.
The increase to level 5 indicates that there is sustained human-to-human transmission in communities in different geographical locations.
Dr. Chan said all countries should immediately activate their pandemic preparedness plans and countries should remain on high alert for unusual outbreaks of influenza-like illness and severe pneumonia.
“The biggest question, right now, is this: how severe will the pandemic be, especially now at the start?,” she said.
“If you are sick, if you have something that may well be swine flu, or any illness, it may be prudent to stay home until you are feeling better,” said Keiji Fukuda. “This is a way of voluntarily preventing yourself from transmitting infection perhaps to others. It is also a way of getting rest and treatment. ”
The most severe cases of swine flu have been found in Mexico, where the disease is suspected of killing more than 150 people and sickening hundreds more.
In the United States there have been more than 90 confirmed cases in 11 states. Earlier Wednesday, health officials announced the first swine flu fatality in the United States was a Mexican baby who was visiting relatives in the state of Texas.

There is no doubt that we live in the last days and there is a lot that is going on around the world besides the current global economic crisis, not to mention the ‘Swine Flu’ epidemic. However, paranoia, irrationality, anxiety, and sensationalism are the driving force of fear especially among some Christian circles.
Matthew 10:29-31
(29) Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
(30) But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
(31) Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
I pick out End Time Bible Prophesy teachers/students in evangelical circles because they are the most purveyors of irrational fear and paranoia in their communications that Christians lose perspective of their call in Jesus Christ and what the Church is supposed to do in times of Crisis.
There is no doubt that the many events happening around the world point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ told us about this in Matthew 24 and we as Christians should be well aware that we live in the last days. However, we need to keep all things in perspective and know that many of the global crisis events happening across the globe are just the first birth pains and not the end of the world…more…
Palestinian Leaders Hope to ‘Extinguish’ Israel

A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says a recent statement by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas should be a clear message to the Obama administration that the Palestinians have no desire to live in peace with the nation of Israel.
Since taking office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to endorse the notion of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel as a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He says, however, that Palestinian recognition of Israel as the national state of the Jewish people is crucial for progress in any future peace talks.
But on Monday, in a statement from Ramallah, Abbas flatly refused such a recognition. Gary Bauer, chairman of American Values, says Abbas’s intentions are clear.
“They will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state. And to me it signals that they’re not only going to insist on a Palestinian state, they’re going to insist on the right of however many Palestinians want to, to immigrate to Israel even if that demographically changes the nature of the Jewish state,” he contends. “A lot of the people in the Middle East want an Islamic caliphate that controls the entire area of the Middle East, including Israel.”
