America is Being Judged
worldnetdaily
America is being judged.
I feel it deep down in my bones.
I see it all around me.
There is a denial of sin.
There is a lack of discernment about the eternal and unchanging laws of God.
There is a failure in the church to be the salt and the light in a culture spiraling into the moral abyss.
Let me caution my countrymen that this path leads only to destruction.
I urge you to take some time to study Romans 1.
We’re told beginning in verse 18 what brings on the wrath of God. It applies equally to individuals and nations.
This chapter tells us we are without excuse – believers and non-believers alike. Every man and woman knows the difference between right and wrong – righteousness and unrighteousness. God has showed us all – even to those who have never read the Bible.
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse,” it tells us in verse 20.
America’s serious problems today are, at their root, spiritual.
Synagogues Attacked Across France
Unidentified attackers hurl petrol bombs at Jewish places of worship in Paris, eastern France.
Vandals hurled petrol bombs at Jewish places of worship in Paris and eastern France on Sunday night, the latest of a string of anti-Semitic attacks since the start of Israel’s Gaza offensive. In the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, the local synagogue was attacked with two petrol bombs as the rabbi was inside, sparking a fire in the next-door cafeteria, the local prefecture said.
Gay Bishop Doesn’t Plan to Use Bible at Inaugural Event
The first openly homosexual Episcopal bishop will offer a prayer at the Lincoln Memorial at an inaugural event for president-elect Barack Obama. The selection of New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop Vicki Gene Robinson for Sunday’s event follows weeks of criticism from homosexual-rights groups over Obama’s decision to have the Rev. Rick Warren give the invocation at his Jan. 20 inauguration. Warren backed the ban on same-sex “marriage” that passed in his home state of California on the November ballot.
US Pledges $700K to Rebuild Babylon
The United States has pledged $700,000 to help preserve and restore ancient Babylon. In a news release, the U.S. State Department says “‘The Future of Babylon’ project exemplifies the American people’s commitment to the preservation of human heritage and their respect for the cultural heritage of Iraq.”
The State Department says the funding will allow the World Monuments Fund and Iraq’s Board of Antiquities and Heritage to plan for Babylon’s “conservation, study and tourism.” In the Bible, Isaiah prophesies that Babylon “will never be inhabited, nor will it be settled from generation to generation.”
