Secret Talks to Carve up Israel, Again
www.wnd.com
Israel and the Palestinian Authority are negotiating indirectly via the U.S., Jordan and Egypt to outline a future Palestinian state that would encompass Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Middle East security and diplomatic officials told WND.
Popular perception has it that talks between Israel and the PA are stalled over a Palestinian demand that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extend a 10-month West Bank settlement freeze to include Jewish communities in eastern Jerusalem.
Just yesterday, Netanyahu’s office released a statement declaring the prime minister would “never” cede control of united Jerusalem nor retreat to the 1967 borders, referring to an evacuation of the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem. The statement came after Egypt’s foreign minister said in Cairo last week Netanyahu was ready to discuss making “Arab Jerusalem” the capital of a Palestinian state…more…
Faith Schools Should Teach Pupils That Being Gay is ‘Normal and Harmless’
www.dailymail.co.uk
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg was under fire from church leaders last night after saying faith schools should teach that homosexuality is ‘normal and harmless’.
In a pitch to win the ‘pink vote’, Mr Clegg called for a raft of measures to boost equal rights.
He wants all schools – including faith schools – to be legally obliged to implement anti-homophobic bullying policies and to teach that homosexuality is ‘normal and harmless’.
In an interview with gay magazine Attitude, Mr Clegg said gay men and women should have the same rights as married couples – including the symbolic right to use the word ‘ marriage’ rather than ‘civil partnership’.
However, Mr Clegg’s proposals were criticised as ‘disturbing’ by church leaders and MPs. A Church of England spokesman said: ‘The Church’s traditional teaching is that sex should be set within the framework of a faithful marriage, and sex education in church schools will be delivered within that context.
‘Whatever one’s view on sexual ethics, the notion people should be forced to teach as fact what are arguably matters of belief is disturbing.’
A senior Anglican bishop, who did not want to be named, added: ‘Instituting something that must be taught, come what may, is frighteningly fascist.’
Tory MP Philip Davies said: ‘This is an extraordinary view for someone who describes himself as a liberal.
‘He should accept people of particular faiths should be allowed to have a different point of view to himself and teach that in faith schools.’…more…
‘Notional’ Security
bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.com
The latest “screw-up” that let a man with explosives get on a plane on Christmas Day is only part of a larger laxness and irresponsibility when it comes to national security. This administration pays lip service to national security and gives out with a lot of rhetorical notions that makes it notional security instead of national security.
The Muslim major who was arrested for the murders of American soldiers at Fort Hood had left so many clues to his hatred of this country that all you had to do was count the dots, without even connecting them, to see where he was coming from. But for a fellow officer to alert higher authorities to the danger would have meant risking damage to his own career more so than to that of Maj. Nidal Hasan.
That is because we have become so obsessed with political correctness that both common sense and self-preservation have to take a back seat. We don’t dare “profile” anybody going through security checks because that’s not politically correct. Far better to be blown to smithereens than to be politically incorrect…more…
Senior Iranian Official: We Have Manufactured Missiles That Allow us, When Necessary, to Replace Israel in its Entirety With a Big Holocaust
www.jihadwatch.org
The Iranians continue to breathe threats and murder, and the West continues to do nothing. “Senior Iranian Official Mohammad Hassan Rahimian: Our Missiles Can Cause ‘Big Holocaust’ in Israel,” from MEMRI, January 12 (thanks to Sr. Soph):
Following is an excerpt from a statement by Mohammad Hassan Rahimian, Khamenei’s representative in the Iranian Martyr Foundation, which aired on Al-Manar TV on January 12, 2010.
Mohammad Hassan Rahimian: The economic siege and everything they have done against us… “The plotting of evil will hem in only its authors.” The outcome was the opposite. Before the war, we had no military equipment. We have manufactured missiles that allow us, when necessary, to replace (sic) Israel in its entirety with a big holocaust…more…
The ‘Camel Method’ Of Evangelism Is Not Biblical
www.newswithviews.com
I have addressed, on numerous occasions, the Church’s ongoing efforts to reinvent Christianity into a global religion of Results & Relationships by using the powers of pragmatism and consensus to artificially grow itself into something more widely accepted by the world instead of faithfully proclaiming the Word of God “in season and out” as we are commanded to do in 2nd Timothy 4:2. The leaders of the new spirituality and its church growth movement have always had a hard time avoiding the “wide gate” and “broad way” choosing clever methods of “evangelism” that are not only incompatible with God’s Word, but also prove them unwilling to trust Him with the increase – ever looking for something more clever, spectacular and impressive to glory in and boast about to a watching world.
“…for men to search their own glory is not glory.” – Proverbs 25:27b
“So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.” – 1st Corinthians 3:7
There’s no better example of this than a recent story from The Baptist Standard where Christians are encouraged by a “veteran missionary” to employ what’s called “The Camel Method” to evangelize, where the Quran is used, instead of the Bible, to share Christ with Muslims – a method that reportedly utilizes “selected verses” and “doesn’t teach or lecture, but asks questions.”…more…
