Israel Alone
bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.com
With the May 18, 2009, Netanyahu-Obama meeting behind them, Jews around the world have begun to realize that they are now very much alone.
That’s not to say that Israel doesn’t have sympathy from countries like Germany and the Czech Republic. They even have two-faced “friends” like Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia who say they are looking out for Israel’s peace. But, since Israel became a nation again in 1948, it has had at least one true, friend with teeth in the United States. After the presidential meeting, it would appear that friends have parted ways.
Where past U.S. administrations stood by Israel while trying to appease Israel’s hostile Arab neighbors, the Obama administration has made it clear it will stand by Israel’s hostile Arab neighbors while trying to appease Israel.
Not only in words, but in action has the Obama administration stated where the United States now stands. Author Daniel Gordis summarized recent White House actions in his Jerusalem Post article “In Perspective: For the sake of clarity, a thought experiment” (Tuesday, May 19, 2009).
“At AIPAC’s recent Policy Conference, Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. John Kerry made it clear that for the US to support Israel on Iran, Israel must settle the Palestinian problem once and for all. It has been widely reported that Rahm Emanuel, in an off-the-record session, said precisely the same thing. After decades of tacit agreement that the US would remain silent about Israel’s nuclear capability, a State Department official publicly suggested that Israel sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, as if, on the eve of Iran’s going nuclear and with Pakistani weapons in danger of falling into the hands of the Taliban, Israel’s nuclear arsenal is the world’s most serious concern.”…more…
Obama to Say It Is Time to Divide Jerusalem
bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.com
I’m horrified by reports this morning that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.
No, Mr. President, it is not.
Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map.
Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen. Already, the Radicals believe Israel is doomed to destruction. Hearing that the American President is now ready to apply intense pressure against the Israelis to divide their capital will only embolden the Radicals and convince them further that Allah is on their side, the wind is at their back, and they will soon triumph over the Jews and Christians…more…
Iran ‘Test Launches’ Medium-Range Missile
news.bbc.co.uk
Iran says it has successfully test launched a mid-range surface-to-surface missile, state media have reported.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the Sajjil-2 missile used “advanced technology” and had landed on target.
He was speaking in Semnan, from where the missile, with a range of 2,000km (1,240 miles), was reportedly launched. The US confirmed the launch had taken place, and reiterated that President Barack Obama was “concerned” about Iran’s missile development.
Analysts say the test may be seen as provocative by Iran’s Arab neighbours and its opponents in the West. “The defence minister [Mohammed Najjar] told me today that we launched a Sajjil-2 missile, which is a two-stage missile and it has reached the intended target,” Mr Ahmadinejad told a crowd in the northern town. He said the missile used solid fuel and was “able to go beyond the atmosphere then come back and hit its target”.
Palestinians to Agree to Islamic Sovereignty Over Temple Mount

Nabil Abu Rudeina, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said that if Israel opts for peace and has a leader who is willing to make genuine compromises, a peace agreement could be reached within three to six months.
Palestinian sources said the PA would only be willing to relinquish Palestinian sovereignty over the Temple Mount as part of a final-status agreement in exchange for Islamic sovereignty over the site.
Meanwhile, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak announced yesterday that he was canceling his planned visit to Washington next week due to the death of his grandson.
Abbas is expected to meet U.S. President Barack Obama next week. Abu Rudeina said Abbas will ask for clarifications on the U.S. stance on negotiations with Israel.
“During the meetings with U.S. special envoy George Mitchell, we made it clear that there must be an Israeli recognition of the principle of two states for two peoples and a freezing of construction in the settlements,” Abu Rudeina said.
Prophetic Signs that we are in the End Times
gospeloftruth.net
The Bible gives many examples of signs that should warn us of the coming end of the age. Six such signs are given by Jesus, two characteristics are given by Paul, and eleven other occurrences are given by the prophets to occur prior to or soon after the end of the age. While we are also told we will not know the time of the End, God obviously wanted us to know when that time was getting closer. As the Christian church is increasingly drawn into the interfaith movement, and as more and more churches go into isolation, preparing to sleep through the growing attacks on their faith, perhaps God knew it would take a few signs to wake us up and remind us that we have work to do.
Unfortunately, many Christians take the verses that tell us we won’t know the time of His coming to mean they should ignore any and all scripture that might warn us of this time of tribulation. Others have fallen into the trap of fearing being labeled a “conspiracy theorist” should they display an interest in the Biblical prophecies about our future on Earth. My philosophy is simple. God included it in the Bible and, since God is all knowing, we should trust that it is something we should know and study along with the rest of His Word…more…
