The Middle East Quartet Tells Israel How to Live in Its Capital City of Jerusalem

At a meeting in Moscow of the Middle East Quartet which is made up of the United States, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, told Israel to stop all kinds of building in its capital city of Jerusalem and Israel must do this now because it is undermining the peace process in the Middle East. Israel recently announced the building of 1600 new housing units in Jerusalem and world leaders have reacted very harshly to the Israeli announcement and the Quartet wants talks immediately with a Palestinian state within the next two years.
The Quartet also wants all settlement construction stopped even including natural growth and they want Israel to dismantle all buildings that have erected since March of 2001.

Why has President Barak Obama decided to foment a crisis in US relations with Israel?
Some commentators have claimed that it is Israel’s fault. As they tell it, the news that Israel has not banned Jewish construction in Jerusalem – after repeatedly refusing to ban such construction – drove Obama into a fit of uncontrolled rage from which he has yet to recover.
While popular, this claim makes no sense. Obama didn’t come to be called “No drama Obama” for nothing. It is not credible to argue that Jerusalem’s local planning board’s decision to approve the construction of 1,600 housing units in Ramat Shlomo drove cool Obama into a fit of wild rage at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Obama himself claims that he has launched a political war against Israel in the interest of promoting peace. But this claim, too, does not stand up to scrutiny.
On Friday, Obama ordered Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to present Netanyahu with a four-part ultimatum.
First, Israel must cancel the approval of the housing units in Ramat Shlomo.
Second, Israel must prohibit all construction for Jews in Jerusalem neighborhoods built since 1967.
Third, Israel must make a gesture to the Palestinians to show them we want peace. The US suggests releasing hundreds of Palestinian terrorists from Israeli prisons.

That theme, proclaimed from a poster welcoming women to the June 1995 celebration called “Women and the United Nations,” echoed the hope of feminists around the world. Picturing a circle of dancing women, it introduced a new art exhibit which showed “women of all nations celebrating the strengths, diversity and shared experiences of all women.”
It didn’t take long to see that the “shared experiences of all women” was pain and oppression. Pictures of sad, angry, contorted, and naked women lined the long bayfront hallway leading to the San Francisco auditorium where women were gathering to discuss the coming United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. Matching the theme, an oversized collage featured a nude goddess with hands reaching out to a turbulent, hurting world. Dark faces crying out in agony surrounded her long surrealistic yellow body.
Only a few pictures offered hope. A nude pastel-colored woman symbolized the UN’s solution to pain: a worldwide change in consciousness causing humanity to see itself as one united people, speaking with one voice, and “thinking in common… so that the experience of the mass is behind the simple voice.”
If the UN has its way, that simple, collective voice would be forced to speak its ideology. That ideology colored all the promotional literature and gifts offered at the entrance to the auditorium: the campaign buttons that called for “Choice” and the “ERA”; and the books and pamphlets promoting Planned Parenthood, NOW, and the American Association of University Women…more…
Nancy Pelosi Set to Wave Magic Wand Over Uncle Sam Sunday Night

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is about to wave her magic wand and socialize a major portion of the U.S. economy in violation of the Constitution.
House Republican Chairman Greg Walden says that Americans are now witnessing the “slaughtering of democracy.”
“Slaughtering” is a reference to Louise Slaughter (D-NY) who has come up with a scheme to package the Senate version of ObamaCare and the House Reconciliation Bill into one measure that can be enacted into law without a single “yea’ or “nay” from an elected official.
The waving of the wand is set to occur on Sunday night.
The Traditional Values Coalition warns that Mrs. Pelosi’s magical act will oblige all Americans to purchase Obama government-run health care and will produce the following consequences:
· This government takeover of health care will affect 100% of Americans – born and unborn – for generations to come. Mrs. Pelosi revealed that a package of amendments to the Senate-passed health care bill would include a new tax on unearned income. Pelosi said this tax would cover all unearned income, “whatever category that is.”
· Obama and Pelosi have intentionally deceived the American people about taxpayer-funding of abortion. It is a fact that this bill authorizes an unprecedented, profound and alarming increase of tax money for other people’s abortions – the largest increase of government-funded abortion since Roe v. Wade. Is this what you want?
· The Constitution will be deemed null and void since a precedent will be set for legislation to be approved without a single vote from a Congressman or Senator under the so-called “Slaughter Rule.” Article I, Sec. 7 of the Constitution requires that for a bill to become law it must be voted on by both chambers of Congress and then sent to the President who signs into law or vetoes it. The section states:
“Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a law, be presented to the President of the United States; if he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the objections at large on their journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the bill, it shall be sent, together with the objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a law.
But in all such cases the votes of both Houses shall be determined by yeas and nays, and the names of the persons voting for and against the bill shall be entered on the journal of each House respectively. If any bill shall not be returned by the President within ten days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the same shall be a law, in like manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their adjournment prevent its return, in which case it shall not be a law.”…more…
Gaza Rocket Strikes South Israel For Fifth Time in 24 Hours

A rocket fired by Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip struck the western Negev on Friday, for the fifth time in 24 hours.
Israel Air Force air craft struck at least six targets in the Gaza Strip befire daFriday a day after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave killed a Thai worker in southern Israel, Hamas security officials and witnesses said.
Two civilians were injured in one of three attacks on smuggling tunnels along the border with Egypt. The other targets included two open areas in Khan Younis and a metal foundry near Gaza City.
The Israeli military had no immediate comment.
Vice Premier Silvan Shalom had said on Thursday Israel would make a strong response to what was the first deadly rocket fire from Hamas-ruled Gaza at Israel in more than a year.
Israel also sent a letter of complaint to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is due to visit Israel at the weekend, and the UN Security Council.
Israel’s UN Ambassador Gabriela Shalev urged Ban to call for the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, captured by Gaza militants in 2006. Hamas has demanded Israel free hundreds of the thousands of militants in its jails in exchange for the soldier.
A previously unknown group, Ansar al-Sunna, believed to share the hardline ideology of al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire at Israel, as well as the Al-Aqsa Martrys Brigades, a wing of the mainstream Fatah movement.
Hamas Islamists, who took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, had beenurging other militant groups not to strike Israel, voicing concern about possible Israeli retaliation…more…
